  • Re: Crazy Statist At A Shopping Mall

Wow has anyone ever told him that in capitalism you can just go somewhere else to shop... O_O Oh well I've seen worse. One time in a subway a guy wanted to order a sub that he thought was on the 5 dollar menu but wasn't. The lady spent like 10 minutes trying to explain this and even showed him the menu that his choice of sub was not on the menu

  • Re: Iran

I do not agree that sanctions are either workable nor are they to be sanctioned by international law(not in the literal term but in the abstract term). Sanction do not hurt the dictator or powerful as they can merely buy there products either through a black market or by leaving the country, two options which are restricted to the general population

  • Re: You know you're an Austrian when...

When bad music merely becomes a subjective value. when you start wishing more people had talent so they could ignore governmental affairs and work. when you convince your community college professor parent she's a plunderer when sitting in class you suddenly realize Charles Murray makes sense. when someone says you need a little government you immediately

  • Re: Best and Worst - President of the United States

My Girlfriend and I have a joke about this very question. We claim that any president we can't think of because during their presidency there must have been no wars or conflict in the country. So if the president is not mentioned in the history book he must've been one heck of a president. Martin Van Buren maybe? :P

  • Re: 100% Inheritance Tax

I think that the subjective value theory would make it impossible for us to know whether or not people would feel more pride in their companies or whether or not companies would be more philanthropic. However, with no taxes and regulaitons, companies would be able to higher more people and use more of the existing capital to produce more products that

  • Re: 100% Inheritance Tax

Isn't there already an income tax for that. They also have programs for those who lack talent... welfare. So basically, the state punishes talent and rewards lacking talent. Sometimes I truly believe socialism is what happens when the talent pool in society begins to shrink.

  • Re: Feedback On Switching My Major

Well at least whatever major you go into won't conflict with your beliefs. I'm slowly becoming an anarchist and my major is political science >_<. I almost have my BA so I'm just going to stick it out until I get my MA and PHD. I am even writing a book on war and planning on starting my own school. Good luck on your future career,

  • Re: 100% Inheritance Tax

one time I had a debate with someone on the issue of minimium wage and why I am oppossed to it. Basically what happened was that I went through my premises one by one and asked that person if he agreed. What ended happening was that he agreed to with all my premisses but disagreed with my conclusion that minnimium wage was actually harmful to the poor

  • Re: Animal Spirits (The Book)

I like going to BN and borders mainly to browse or meet up with people. I got an ebook reader so most of the stuff I want to read I just get for free from either here or other sites for free. It may cost about 200 bucks but with over 180 titles on my little reader it more than made up for the cost. Plus saves on space in my home (which is already a
