• Re: Does the Minimum Wage Cause Long Work Hours?

My initial thought was in regard to white-collar work. Could it have a different effect on salaried workers vs. hourly? You would work less as an hourly worker, as the more you work, the more you cost. However with salaried positions, you don't cost any more when you work long hours, so there might be a tendency to "get your money's worth"

  • Does the Minimum Wage Cause Long Work Hours?

Does the minimum wage cause long work hours? People today work longer hours than was common in the past. My thought is that the minimum wage, by discouraging the hiring of more workers at a lower wage, encourages employers to ask for more hours from less workers to do the same work. Am I completely off? Is there evidence to support this? Would removing
Whether that suit succeeds depends upon the social standard of the community. If someone is abusing their children (abuse being by definition "wrong"), the community can use the standard punishments such as boycott and outlawry if those "wrongs" are not corrected.
Children are not self-owners. The parents have a trustee guardianship property right in their children. Therefore parents can tell their children what to do and what not to do until the child reaches the age when he can in fact consider himself a self-owner by demonstrating this fact in nature. http://www

  • Re: An Alternative to Copyright

That article is an off-base argument that only partially grasps the concept of IP. Sorry, but I respectfully disagree.

  • Re: Intellectual Property

IP isn't analogous to a bicycle, it is analogous to a plot of land. Violations to my IP rights are not theft, but they are more like trespassing. A trespasser doesn't dispossess me of my property interest at all, but still makes uninvited use of my work.

  • Re: The stupidest argument against the minimum wage is the best.

Minimum wage is something of a misnomer. The Minimum wage raises the amount of paper in a worker's pocket, but it ultimately doesn't increase the amount of MONEY, thanks to rising costs and inflation. Minimum wage advocates, like most socialists, just don't fully consider the impact of their economic interventionism. If we don't have

  • Re: An Alternative to Copyright

I really don't see how copyright is antithetical to a free society, which is built on property rights. IP is property, just like land or chattels, and allowing this legal protection is going to be a lot more efficient than requiring writers/artists to squirrel away and hide their work, protecting it through almost entirely unenforceable contracts

Today people can not retreat to gold because its taxed differently than the Dollar.
Also, it is technically illegal (I'm pretty sure) to transact business in gold. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I am rather sure that this is incorrect. The Dollar is a Federal
