• We the Servants...McCain the Statist

We’ve heard a lot of talk from Obama about change in Washington and McCain has recently taken up that mantra, though he calls it reform. As I watched the Presidential Candidate Forum on Public Service this evening, during which both McCain and Obama took turns lecturing the American People on their duty to serve their nation, (as I recall the

  • Mayor White's Amazement...Houston Residents Care for Themselves

In a press conference given this morning Houston's Mayor, Bill White, expressed amazement at the fact that people in some of Houston's neighborhoods had already come out of their homes to deal with the after-effects of hurricane Ike themselves. Mayor White noted that in one neighborhood residents did not wait for city maintenance crews to come

  • Re: Public Education or Government Prison Camp
This caught my eye today. http://www.wftv.com/news/14858405/detail.html All the school officials and law enforcement involved should be hung like the Nazi thugs they are. I think the immediate abolition of public education should be prime on the libertarian agenda.
Of course , the state will not let our people

  • Re: Romney has a problem: Mormon heaven runs out of steam?

So , the best I can do is to try to get a sense of these things and reason them out.

Dynamix , the thing you must keep in mind is that when we talk about " all known and properly understood scientific laws" we are talking about them from the point of view of our natural observations of their effects and operations in the physical / natural realm. When we talk about Mormon metaphysics as being materialistic we have to keep

  • The Psychology of Denial

What is it that preserves the monetary and market system we have now? If our fiat currency is really worthless , why do people still accept it in trade for goods and services as if it had real value? Why is it, given the fact that the fiat currency is worthless , not backed by anything real other than the threat of government to punish those who will

  • Re: Case for Gold; Debating my Professor

I suspect that what your professor meant was that since the supply of gold is limited there is not enough gold to back an infinite number of printed , worthless paper fiat dollars thus not allowing for an infinite , unaccountable governmental spending spree. He's right. However , his desire to continue just such a system , as we now have , is wrong
