Nomads? Some of the tribes were nomads, but certainly not all. 1491: New Revelations of America Before Columbus by Charles Mann He lays it on a little thick in some parts, but it paints a pretty decent picture of how different tribes lived before meaningful contact with Europe. Given the technology and staple crops available to pre-contact Native Americans

  • Re: getting rid of the income tax, how is this practical?
Basically, i'm just looking for something that says " defense spending can be this, this and that spending can be this, repayment of the debt can be this- and our federal revenue will be this. It is entirely possible". As of right now, it seems unrealistic.
Defense Spending: $0 Other Federal Spending

Daybreak Cohousing in Portland, OR is an excellent example of the sort of free market community I would like to live in when I am ready to purchase a home. If you defend yourself unsuccessfully, you lose life, liberty, and property. If I aggress you successfully, I gain your property and you lose your

Nip this whole problem in the bud by establishing neighborhood covenants. A land developer, could, for instance, make all purchasers of parcels in his development agree to not act in lewd or indecent ways. The contract could define what "indecent" and "lewd" mean along with what happens when the contract is broken (who abritrates

  • Re: Milton Friedman: The Austrians are responsible for the Great Depression

This assumes that gold and only gold would circulate as a medium of exchange in a free market for currency. I highly doubt this would be the case. The deflation of which you speak is the market correcting prices after removing government interference. So maybe we could also describe it as commodity money regaining its lost value.
