    Thanks for the response. I think you've got a valid argument. I'm especially in agreement with you that Mattick simply doesn't understand STV.     Paul Mattick criticized the subjective theory of value (STV) by arguing that it involves circular reasoning. He said, " Although it tries to explain prices, prices were necessary to explain marginal utility."
