I am not sure why it's traditionally translated this way While the most common name in Russian is indeed "Повесть временных лет", occassionally it is referred to as "Первоначальная летопись" - probably because it claims to describe the history of Russian land from the beginning. So I guess "primary" in this context

I do not think the mass of the DS was considerable enough for that. It is estimated to be around 100-200 km across: http://www.st-v-sw.net/STSWdeathstarsizes-2.html . Even if it is solid metal, its mass is much less than that of the Earth's Moon.

What do you mean by creating an object? First, practically all creation is rearrangement. Nothing is created ex nihilo. Also, how do you determine the objective boundaries of this object? I may put a flag on Australia, and claim I created Australia with a flag, thus this new object (Australia with a flag) belongs to me.
