What?

At last those coming came and they never looked back With blinding stars in their eyes but all they saw was black...

What is the video supposed to be about exactly? And in what way does it embody the despair of communism?

At last those coming came and they never looked back With blinding stars in their eyes but all they saw was black...

"The plot deals with the collapse of a collective farm in Hungary near the end of Communism. Several people on the farm are eager to leave with thecash they will receive for closing down the community, but they hear that the smooth-talking and charismatic Irimias, who had disappeared over two years ago and whom they thought to be dead, is returning. Much of the film's plot concentrates on the impact and consequences of Irimias' return through multiple POVs as the communers must cope not only with Irimias' scheming, but that of each other."

That is the plot synopsis. The film is a 7-hour epic that illustrates the despair and misery in a communist way of life. The beginning is just symbolic -  cattle entrenched in their farm.

Ah, I see

And is there a translation?

At last those coming came and they never looked back With blinding stars in their eyes but all they saw was black...

I used to have a Hungarian pen pal who told me that, when in Hungary, you should never mention Communism. People detest it as something that promised glory and delivered misery. Communism is like Satan there.

For anyone interested in watching the film, it is available in parts on Youtube. Just look up "Satan's Tango", and you'll find it. Be warned, however, this film takes a lot of patience to get through.

EDIT: moved my comment to the 'Libertarian Socialism' thread as it's more pertinent and that's a more active thread.
