It depends how it is handled by America, the conflict will probabley be blamed on too little government as usual.

Because he identified a ethnic/cultural group collectively? I guess I can see that. Although his claims of a gang mentality, social pathology, low IQ could all be legit, and my approach might have been to ask him to substantiate those claims.
After seeing Dr. Block get attacked for pointing out studies that suggest differences in the distribution of IQ in woman and men, or that genetically different race groups might have different IQ distributions and thresholds, I'm sensitive to too much sensitivity. Niccolo used to make the claim that these people were anarchistic by nature. But I think we all know that the specific group Byzantine was referencing is fanatically racially and culturally nationalistic, which is not a segment that has natural sympathies for libertarianism.
IMO, good to look for allies, bad to see them in everyone equally.

I live in Florida and there is a large Hispanic population here. Hispanics are far from uniform culturally or politically. The only thing that really draws these people together is a common language. Nationalism? I have not seem more extreme nationalism among Hispanics than I have seen among native-born non-Hispanic Americans. They put flag magnets on their cars at times but I also see plenty of U.S. flag magnets.

Well, the drug trade in Mexicio are dominated by some of the most dangerous and violent drug cartels that I ever knew. Heck some of them are trained by the military.
The population in some part of the countries practically live in fear and the state is basically useless/working for the gangs.
I can see why Byzantine might want to cut off imigration from Mexico and other countries because it would allow gangsters to gain a stronger foothold much faster in the states. However, I don't see them establishing a much of a stronghold in the US and I tend to think that immigration is generally a good thing.
US authorities, monopoly providers as they are, are generally not pussycats. They can be well armed and dangerous if neccesary and can bring in the backing of federal forces. However, if the general public have a gun culture, than it also stand a stronger chance of protecting themsleves against gangsters. Secondary, if we legalizes drugs and prositution, it will diminish these cartels' power.

Why do we need to ban certain groups from immigrating and working in the states? There are asian gangs, white gangs, black gangs, all with their own degree of violence and history. Does that mean we should ban entire groups from immigration just because of a few problematic gangsters?
Yet, people who ARE immigrants are some of the most entrepneural of our generation. They start new businesses such as resturant and donut shops. My own ethnic group(Well some of them..), basically specializes in the production of pretty nails, despite having no such industry operating in their home country.
