GDP is $14.4 trillion.
The US gave $295 billion to charity in 2006.
I know, it's not much of an analysis, but what do you think?

Forced charity is not charity at all. It's extortion plain and simple.
It wasn't forced charity that I looked up when I said that the US gave. I meant the US population gave. I don't think that included things like welfare and social security.
