I wonder if anyone besides Bukovsky (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM2Ql3wOGcU ) is taking the case of former Yugoslavia as the clearer indication to the future of the EU (if no ‘sponsor state” will incorporate it before it be to late). If right, wrong and horror are so mixed up in Kosovo’s case, imagine what will happen after the EU crumbles into never-ending ethnic wars. And us poor Albanians still long for EU membership although by now we should know much better.

The Regression theorem is a memetic equivalent of the Theory of Evolution. To say that the former precludes the free emergence of fiat currencies makes no more sense that to hold that the latter precludes the natural emergence of multicellular organisms.

If the EU were to get stronger and involved in the lives of people as much as the Yugoslav government was, then it's possible. I think it would be a long time before it got to that stage, though. The EU would probably dissolve before then.
