I know the coach who works in ISS and watches the kids in there.
He told me for a brief while, students didn't like going to ISS because they would only give them the free sack lunch, which had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as the main entree instead of whatever normal free lunches were given to the kids (Title I school, 98% of students are on free or reduced breakfast, lunches, and snacks).
Anyway, the parents complained about the free sack lunches and now they have to give the kids in ISS normal lunches.
Just thought I would share this info of what's happening in Houston and Houston area public government schools.
ISS stands for In School Suspension. They don't suspend the kids from school, because they would lose state/federal money.
