I was applying austrian economics to see what insights they yield to american history. This science does in fact explain many of the facts of US history that I know except for how the states west of the ohio river ultimately became statist with some racism (blacks can't vote, alcohol is prohibited/restricted, public education, etc.). There are two options here: 1) I simply got my facts wrong 2) Somehow, there was an incentive to clamp down on German culture even though the states I'm talking about are predominantly german. And further, there was an incentive to spread anti-black ideas even though the politics slavery were unknown to those who immigrated from Germany.
Does anyone know anything about these laws or any additional information?
