The Kindle 3 is out now for $139 and the LvMI and the Online Library of Liberty have a good selection of books in the ePub format.

Using a converter like Calibre should allow decent viewing of ePub books on the Kindle. Has anyone tried to do so? How good is the reading experience? Do the ePub to MOBI converted books look as good as ePub books on other devices like the Nook? How do the diagrams look (for instance the supply and demand curves from MES)? How easy is it to view the footnotes? Any other thoughts?

I recently ordered a B&N Nook, but my order was somehow canceled by B&N. E-mailed them, but got no response.

Might go for their competitor now, this Kindle is looking nice.
