von Mises wrote Omnipotent Government in 1940s. He used the word "etatism". After the 1940s, usage of the word soared in frequency.

Did von Mises invent the word or was it a common word during WW2 to refer Nazi ideology?

the word was first heard in the 1920s according to merriam webster. com, which is a realiable dictionary source... Turkey had a political party in the 1930s called, The Republican People's Party, which used etatism alot
