Some of you may know me as the founder and editor of Prometheus Unbound: A Libertarian Review of Fiction and Literature. I'm a big fan of science fiction and fantasy in several mediums. I started Prometheus Unbound in part because of that interest and because I want to promote fiction with libertarian themes.

But I also want to encourage and facilitate more libertarians to write higher and higher quality fiction. I'm an aspiring fiction writer myself, in the planning stages with several story ideas.

Lately, I've been listening to a bunch of writing podcasts and have become interested in having writing groups and alpha readers for workshopping one's in-progress short story and novel projects. So I created a writing group here in the mises.org community:

http://community.mises.org/groups/austro-libertarian-fiction-writers-and-alpha-readers/ [Updated link]

If you're interested in writing fiction, especially if you're serious about it, check out the group.

I've linked to a couple of writing podcasts and an article by established, successful writers on writing groups and alpha readers, and I've distilled some guidelines from these to help facilitate the workshopping process and avoid common pitfalls.

I also recently launched Simple:Press-powered community discussion forums on the Prometheus Unbound website, which includes several forums for writers (on the craft and business of writing, for writing groups, and author spotlight and showcase).

I hope to see more and better libertarian fiction published in the future. And more libertarians winning the Prometheus Award for Best Libertarian Novel!

I recommend that you create the group at the new Mises.org community (http://community.mises.org).

To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process.
Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!"
Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."

Huh. I've been away too long. Thanks!

Is this one no longer active or are things still in transition?
