What are everyone's thoughts on the validitiy of class action lawsuits? To me, they do not serve justice and are really about getting as much money as possible out of the defendant rather than seeking just compensation. The reason I ask is because Sony has recently put out a mandatory update on the PSN where if you accept you sign away the "right" to enter into a class-action lawsuit against Sony. This seems like a perfectly valid thing to do in my opinion. Of course, the mainstream video game columnists and writers are in an uproar about it.
