"Even before taking office, Hillary Rodham Clinton is seeking to build a more powerful State Department, with a bigger budget, high-profile special envoys to trouble spots and an expanded role in dealing with global economic issues at a time of crisis."

Big surprise eh? I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of government departments in "need" of massive growth in the near future. I doubt it would be much different if McCain had been elected either.  As far as I'm concerned it isn't a partisan thing, it's a statist thing and both parties have that down pat. It is, however, quite predictable that someone as power hungry as Hillary that was forced to take the consolation prize would immediately move to expand the scope of the assigned role. But hey, I'm sure she is just working in our best interests right? How is it that people do not see right through these transparent power grabs? It boggles the mind.
