https://archive.freecapitalists.org:443/forums/197.aspxPolitics, disasters, war and peace.enCommunityServer 2008.5 SP2 (Build: 40407.4157)https://archive.freecapitalists.org:443/forums/thread/363692.aspxFri, 10 Sep 2010 03:44:06 GMT944abf2b-d1be-4bf2-990d-438cb0e377e9:363692Bogart0https://archive.freecapitalists.org:443/forums/thread/363692.aspxhttps://archive.freecapitalists.org:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=197&PostID=363692<p> I do not know where to start on the ways this Obama is at best selling snake oil and at worst telling outright lies.</p> <p> The obvious point is that the most significant health problem facing US citizens is not hunger but obesity.&nbsp;</p> <p> The biggest factor in preventing people from being able to obtain food is the USA Federal Government.&nbsp; The regulatory system prevents people from selling food to one another through a wide variety of agencies, subsidies, prohibitions and outright violence.&nbsp; The Feds crowd people who want to supply food by providing subsidies to their competitors.&nbsp; Then the Feds turn around and gives people money not to grow food to keep prices high.&nbsp; It uses horribly violent attacks on people who deal in food not processed in their particular veiw of how it should be processed.&nbsp; Of course these policies help large well connected suppliers at the expense of small entrepreneurs.</p> <p> And despite the best efforts and power of the Feds, small entrepreneurs manage to supply the food people want.&nbsp; And the penalty for this has been military style raids on people who do such terrible things as supply cannibus to sick people and distribute raw milk.</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
