It's extra silly when—like most things to do with government—you consider the arbitrary line. Carry 28.3495 grams and you're a totally legit, respeactable, reasonable member of society. But carry 28.4 grams and all of a sudden you're classed with rapists and murderers.

Regarding sellers carrying more than an ounce, obviously they can carry more than an ounce because they're the licensed grower-sellers. Naturally, it's totally horrifying to carry over an ounce of this wicked drug, unless you're selling it for the government.

The part about it still being a felony for possession of an ounce or more is truly moronic. If it's legal to own and sell, what difference does it make how much? I could buy a pallet of Jack Daniels if I wanted to, but more than an ounce of weed is a felony? What a crock!

Er, how do they expect anyone to sell it legally then? I'd expect the sellers to each possess much more than an ounce beforehand.

The law itself is completely ludicrous, which is to be expected since politicians are like downs babies. But in that regard, I'll show some respect for whatever small steps they can manage.

At least in Washington State:
- Still can't grow it without a license to be a standalone marijuana-selling business (and all the regulations that go along with whether the government will approve your establishment as fit to stock and dispense the plant)
- 25% sales tax!!!
- Posession of more than an ounce is still a felony—on par with raping a 5 year old, murder, and so forth?
- DUI if blood concentration greater than 5nanoliters per liter (or something else completely arbitrary and silly)
- Other ridiculous measures, essentially placing it on par with alcohol
