&lt;p&gt;Well not Switzerland banned homeschooling but Zurich, which is a canton of Switzerland. In Switzerland almost everything is up for popular vote if enough citizens apply for it. So&lt;b&gt; there is no federal coercion going in&lt;/b&gt; like in Germany or the U.S.&lt;/p&gt;
