He&amp;#39;s a very dangerous man with very dangerous ideas. He&amp;#39;s so dangerous because he&amp;#39;s a populist, a demagogue (in the Greek sense) who enjoys enormous popular support, both at home and abroad. He&amp;#39;s testing many ideas that have been hanging in the air in the past ten years. The French are an intelligent people (&amp;quot;My government fored me to sell my two cows to give them the money to buy a sinlge cow for a man in another part of the world&amp;quot;) but centuries of aggressive national goverments (starting all the way back to Charlemagne) have sapped their strength and deprived them of the will to oppose a tyrant.
