Yes, we need such a collection! It would be very powerful, enabling libertarians to explain their views in short and not ending up either being frowned upon or spending two hours explaining in depth.

There are good answers to these questions, and there are also great answers and fantastic answers. With the caveat that it depends on the context and who you're talking to, I think it would be a great idea to collect the "fantastic" (in terms of power, clarity, and succinctness) answers somewhere. For an example of what I mean by fantastic, recall some of Tom Woods's best moments. Some Mises and Rothbard quotes also. And, surprisingly often, certain comments on these forums.

It would be nice if we had a reddit or Digg-like voting system to bring the best responses to the top, perhaps within a wiki designed for this purpose.

If I had to pick only two things this site should have on it's forums, these would be this and a "Weird Hypothetical Questions" forum.

Is there a thread here with a summary of answers to questions that libertarians are frequently asked in social contexts, such as

- Why are you a libertarian?

- What about the poor?

- What about roads?

etc

At social gatherings, parties etc. one rarely has time to explain everything in depth.
