"Hope" was perhaps the wrong word. I sort of meant the vague, passive "hope" that one always has that things will get better. For example, I hope that inter-galactic travel will occur in my lifetime. Do I think it's likely or even possible? Not really. Do I still want it to happen? Of course.

Why? Stewart & Colbert are complete wastes of time, being that they are court jesters & quite comfortable ultimately not rocking the boat unless signaled by the various parts of the upset establishment.

Most likely. He's done stuff like this before, but it didn't make him any less interventionist.

Who knows what'll happen with him? I've always liked Stewart because at least he was honest and rather open-minded. Who knows, maybe this will be the first little seed of doubt that festers in the back of his mind? The same thing happened to me: Bush's incompetency and corruptness broke me of my neoconservatism--it took years, but it happened. It'll take a while, but this just might be the first step Stewart takes down a new road. Let's only hope that some Austrian scholars are around to point him in the right direction.

Or maybe I'm just being too optimistic? Who knows.

The only thing I didn't like about the segment is the comparison of Obama to Frodo.

The intention is to give the impress that Obama was a good, but naive sort, corrupted by power.

I say "Bah".

Obama, IMO, always sought power. Using the LOTR imagery, he's not Frodo, but Saruman, who pretended to be good, but secretly sought power.

I highly doubt it. To Stewart it just means we need to hold our socialist politicians more accountable. It's all about getting The Right People^tm in charge and getting them to set the world right.
