Imagine 4chan as a "live" forum, where every topic is assigned a picture. Instead of the title to the topic, you see the OP upfront, with a picture, and the 3 most recent comments. To enter the topic and participate in the discussion, click "view all comments" or whatever.

Don't be distracted by the porn, although I suppose you can find libertarians or debates in those topics as well lol.

I'm not sure I understand the flow of 4chan ugh lol it seems like a chaotic mess to me. As for the mises chat, yea i've tried that before it's like all bots or something.

4chan is an image board. It's like a forum, but people post images often with their comments, and discussions tend to happen in real time or else they die out immediately. 4chan is characterized by it's somewhat anarchic rule system: everything is allowed (except child porn). So you will see the most extreme vulgar things, and also the most extremely beautiful/interesting things. It is certainly Not Safe For Work.

4chan generally means www.4chan.org/b

Chan sites are image boards like 4chan, essentially fast-paced forums with lots of pictures. They are a really cool, useful resource on the internet if you can get past the vulgar stuff.

EDIT: If you're in an online mood, particularly the very social yet anonymous kind, AND you're drunk, 4chan is THE place to go.

Chan sites, like 4chan. You will have some VERY lively debates there, in real time, for about 2+ hours sometimes. Many debates I've been involved in there have several anarchists repping mises.org.

EDIT: Without exception, the most exciting and interactive real-time debates I've been in have been on 4chan. Surprisingly, those who choose to argue there tend to have SOME knowledge. And the format is great! Pictures and links abound, and the number-hyperlink things that take you straight to a person's comment without reloading anything is particularly helpful.
