Look at the continuity. The article was arguing that the increase in immigrant students was at least partly responsible for the shift toward a more math based curriculum. This is what you said. I agreed. Then you thought I was arguing something else.

Actually my statement was meant to be sarcastic, my fault for being ambiguous.

Not to me. I don't think supporting government immigration policies (for or against) is consistent libertarianism. Or at least, I don't believe so after yesterday.

Stephen Forde:

On a thread last week you said that whites should be concerned about racism against them. And when some ppl are you whine about it?

I said that if whites are going to be concerned about racism, it would make sense for them to be concerned first with racism against whites, rather than racism against non-whites, which they would not have any conception of.

It is not possible to be hardcore (from my perspective) if you aren't an anarchist. A hardcore minarchist is still pro-state.

Re: VDare has an interesting observation on the subprime crisis

Rooster:

Why, are you more edumacated than me?

The fact that economics is highly mathematical is not evidence for their immigration theory.

Re: VDare has an interesting observation on the subprime crisis

emph.

Had they been high-schoolers, remedial English classes would have been mandatory for most of them.

But instead, university economics departments took the easy way out: they altered the curriculum to accommodate the foreigners!

Gone was the history of economic thought. Gone was the economic history course that exposed students to market failures and the importance of psychological factors—what Keynes dubbed “animal spirits”—to a prosperous economy. In their place: mathematically-oriented courses devoid of any historical content or context.

I suspect the growth of computing power also contributed.

This is related to sub prime as the justification for derivatives is mostly mathematical.
