Another good source for Lincoln related materials from a scholarly perspective is The Abbeville Institute. There are some mp3 lectures available there also.

Also, I'm looking for references that show the history of the War Between the States as a tax revolt, rather than the errand of mercy it is portrayed to be by the mainstream. I'm looking on my own, but if someone could quick-link me to some stuff I'd be grateful.

I've been reading a lot about the War for Southern Independence because I'm doing my high school senior research paper on it. So far I've read The South Was Right, The Politicially Incorrect Guide to the South, and a few chapters of A Constitutional History of Secession. From what I've read so far if you had to get one of those books the Constitutional History of Secession would be your best bet because it goes into a lot of detail. But if you just want something that gives you the general idea get the Politically Incorrect Guide. It's a lot shorter and gets more to the point.

I also have Jefferson Davis's The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government Volume 1 but I haven't started it yet.

So I'm having a discussion with some people who think that Lincoln was the best President EVAR, etc. Is there such a thing as a compendium of quotes (with references) from him exposing his racism? Also, I'm looking for references that show the history of the War Between the States as a tax revolt, rather than the errand of mercy it is portrayed to be by the mainstream.
