That sounds like Marx's historical determinism. If we don't do anything, the state will remain right there.

That will take thousands of years. Regardless, when that time comes, enough need to be educated in order that our system is implemented. So we still need to take action.

I want to see more 'libertarian entrepreneurship'. Rather than bitch about how shit state services are, its time to prove it by out-performing them. PayPal was a good attempt (that didn't quite succeed). Now Facebook has a great opportunity to launch it's own currency, and with Peter Thiel on the Board there's a good libertarian influence there. Thiel & fellow PayPal founder Elon Musk are doing their bit in terms of expanding into sea and space too.

Alternative dispute resolution is a promising industry. If only some creative entrepreneurs could give that industry an 'in' to the vast realm of criminal law... Gil Guillory is trying -- in an academic sense at least. Criminals aren't likely to submit to restitution on their own, but if a PDA can direct them that way as an alternative to a police record and prison, perhaps there is an opportunity for it there. You don't have to go at it with black flags on your mast -- the creation and growth of ADR and private police industries wasn't met with any (?) resistance.

The general idea is to create 'shadow' institutions that get people used to the idea of paying private companies for 'government' services. All the eloquent Rothbard quotes in the world won't come close to actually showing people it can be done.

If this thread has been started some where else in this forum (I did look honest) then provide a link.

First off I want this thread to stick on topic so if you comment, work with the following assumptions...

1) The system moved towards will be one which prohibits institutions/acts which initiate violence/force, threat of violence/force and fraud.It can be collective and it can be individualist. It of course assumes that both will follow the non aggression axiom and accept self ownership. Whether or not that's possible, does not belong here.

2) The above should provide a sufficient idea of what were assuming were attempting to bring about. Whether or not intellectual property rights, abortion, genetic cloning etc would exist does not need to be discussed here.

Basically, I'm looking for idea's on how to reach a voluntaryist system, that's it.

Examples of this are a parliamentarian approach (voting out the state). agorism (living around it and is if it didn't exist), violent rebellion, secession (peaceful &/or violent), migration etc.

I'm really looking for links, idea's, arguments, whatever. My only opinion is that yes we should utilize all forms that do not contradict the ethical premise of assumption (1) but that voting methods are not only slow but unlikely to bring such a society. And that violent approaches fall into contradicting the ethical premise of assumption (1).
