Getting a gun for hunting is actually pretty easy in Japan.

I haven't read most of the responses, so forgive me if I repeat someone.

I grew up in Japan. I moved there a week after I turned age nine, and left one week before I turned age 15. I speak the language, and I deeply understand the culture.

Gun crime is not an issue in Japan, because crime is not an issue in Japan. Furthermore, most of the Japanese do no believe that guns are necessary for private citizens to own. Therefore, the law has overwhelming support in their society, which is to say the law is legitimate. Citizens typically obey laws they deem legitimate.

Once again, becoz it didn't answer the question. I would've thought that was obvious, but obviously not. Instead of answering the question about gun control in Japan, and why it works there as opposed to elsewhere, and that WAS the question in essence, you've simply answered the question about your own personal biases.

Well, the question assumes from facts in evidence a conclusion which is not. The facts in evidence are:

1) Japan has strict gun control
2) Japan has a low violent crime rate

What is not in evidence, but assumed by the OP:

3) Japan's strict gun laws cause Japan to have a low violent crime rate

There is an alternative hypothesis for why Japan has a low violent crime rate and that is that it has a very powerful government. Powerful governments have an interest in maintaining peace between their subjects (and even the health of their subjects) for the express purpose of ensuring that their subjects remain as tax-productive as possible.

If you can show how authentically AnCap you are in the process by quoting Hoppe,

I did look at the nature of your argument. It was terribly sloppy to tell Clayton his argument wasn't welcome here, when you have no such authority or credibility to make such a claim.

108 is the highest IQ average in the world? Really? I thought the highest average was around 120.

I don't know where he gets that number from, but according to Richard Lynn's work Hong Kong is in the lead with an average iq of 107 followed by South Korea and then Japan.
