I was raised pretty strict vegan, but to paraphrase Patrick Henry, give me cheese or give me death.

I still do not eat meat, but included dairy in my diet after I hit double-digit age. I'm making up for that lack as well. I live in Texas and never have eaten meat, but am drawn to hunger pains by proper BBQ. That tells me that despite never eating meat, it is natural to do so.

Choosing not to partake of the flesh of another is an individual choice, but I am not limiting my children to a meatless diet. I will let them make that decision as they grow and learn to think critically. I found that the lack of ability to digest meat meant that it was not worth it for me to try to add it to my diet after a certain point. I have no moral objections (aside from objecting to the industrial animal farms that support fast food and low quality foods.

My moral objection is rather akin to what I learned from growing up with hippies and native Americans; respect the animals that give their lives so you can eat and live. I try to instill that in my children as well, so that they understand that animals must die for them to eat hamburgers and hot dogs. If they grow up and choose not to eat meat, I hope that it is for the right reasons, rather than because someone else told them it was the right choice.

When Henry David Thoreau did his Walden experiment he had a primarily vegan diet, but the difference is that he farmed the land, which for you is agriculture which according to you leads to civilization, so relying on wild vegetables, fruits, and nuts will be more of a task since you won't be growing anything.

Human beings were made to eat primarily raw wild plants. If I'm in a place where there's an abundance of food I should be OK.

You need to start doing more research about human origins. Do any of your an-soc friends know this shit?

For a while I was running my own vegan blog, so I know about that. My "an-soc" friends? If you are talking about veganism, a good amount of my friends are.

You won't be able to do this alone, you will need a collective to successfully ambush large game and then tiringly beat the animal to death with a blunt object or stab it with spears. You cannot have anything more advanced than a pointy stick.
