^As much I love disagreeing with a person who has such an absurd belief, I do agree that having this belief does make you want to be an enemy of the state. Or it can create fear in the government, like I mentioned before, I was sort of a "truther" back in 2002, that and the massive discrimination against Muslims, Arabs, and general middle eastern looking people really helped jump start my dislike of the government (though my dislike of authority or coercion has always been natural). It was a real shock at the time. I don't think it is the best way to be introduced to libertarianism though, because it is absurd.
Freedom has always been the only route to progress.
onebornfreedotblogspotdotcom: So far, it has not been so proven- in fact a number of reputable researchers have actually concluded the exact opposite- that the so called live network footage of that day is mostly computer generated and fake.[see the best example, imho, "September Clues", here]

Holy s***, thanks for the link. I can't believe I never realised before the inconsistencies in the tv footage. Seems a pretty botched cover up to show multiple different sized and shaped "planes" arriving at completely different angles from what is shown to be the same frame of reference, but alleged to be taken from different sites. I think the mainstream media should start getting behind the flat earth theory, they might have a chance of bringing back a classic!

Yes. Hindsight can be 20:20 [ provided you allow yourself to open your eyes ], however, I believe you are being a little hard on yourself. Most of us were emotionally swayed by the media version of the supposed events that day, and most continue to be so swayed.
It is worth bearing in mind that this particular researcher [S.Shack] had to collect and analyze thousands of video frames literally frame by frame, and that his efforts did not really resolve for a number of years.

Yes, according to all "legitimate" network and other video records, flight AA175 apparently took at least 3 completely different paths/trajectories on its way to its , impossibly immaculate, full penetration of WTC2 without even slowing down or any parts falling off at impact , but still it was a good enough Hollywood simulation to pass muster with a nation raised on Road-Runner cartoons and Hollywood simulations of explosions/smoke etc.
Did the job "quite nicely" I'd say

Well, I’m no big fan of Rothabrian compromises and tactics, mainly because i don’t think they get us anywhere. But on this occasion I too must say that Austrians should show extreme caution in having a public opinion about 9/11 and conspiracy theories in general. It is true that many would find it easier to be introduced to libertarianism by walking along that path, but the risk of ridicule is far too great to be taken. For heaven’s sake, most know the Austrian School only as “a bunch of nuts who just proposed for President a guy who rejects Evolution and blames Nazism on Darwin”! Let us not plunge any lower.
So, I must urge restraint form all of us when speaking as Austrians economists. On the other hand, we might easily discuss our adherence to this or that theory among ourselves (the theories I’ve myself recommended over here are quite unorthodox) or even with other, by making it clear to them that such views have nothing to do with the Austrian Economics tradition whatsoever.
I am glad I posted in this forum - it was very interesting to read all those opinions. I think, I learned a lot about 9/11 and different economic views.
I am totally not an economics or political expert - far from it. I never knew about all this conspiracy theories growing up in Austria - As an Austrian living in the United States, it is very hard to get any real news, what is happening in the world / objective news reports, everything is so over the top. It's not easy to meet a person that is not extreme religious, and constantly people are trying to make a quick buck, or try to scam you.
I was always interested to see other people's views / or to see the flip side of the coin - - in the hope that we all find the right balance. I don't want that we are all living in a world, as described in the Venus project, where nobody owns anything but has supposed access to everything, and a computer will be in control and fair, which sound like bullshit. But maybe we eventually find a good way between two extremes

Sorry about that, corrected it. What's even worse than watching that stuff and trusting one's observations is dealing with other people's dismissiveness and condescension; especially those who should know better about government operations. Operation Northwoods! Cough! Cough! Gulf of Tonkin!

"Sorry about that," Not a problem.

Yes, just stick around here and you will get the same treatment for the most part , suprisingly often from people who call themselves "an-cap" or similar - e.g. check the initial response to my second post in this very thread.
But don't worry about it - "water off the ducks back" is what I say, so you'd best get used to it.
Besides, often what they say is funny. My all-time favorite quote here is a "howler" from a moderator [but not "an-cap"], who said the following regarding the official 911 fabrication:
"Why would you believe that they are lying? Believing that they are telling the truth is the logical starting ground. Furthermore, all the pieces fit if one believes that they are telling the truth."
The usual howls of derision are both expected, understandable and natural to a degree - given the "howler" has usually given very little attention to the facts of 911 and is therefor most often "howling"/deriding out of sheer ignorance [I do not mean that in a derogatory sense-despite the fact that I do wish they'd "turn down the volume" a little-but then again, what do I expect on a public message board in the first place?] , and also often has no knowledge of prior government shenanigans such as those you mention.
However,life goes on....time for a Guinness, methinks.

Are you talking about the movie "Zeitgeist" , or something else?[ie 911 in particular] .It is hard to tell from your post.
Either way, your love of disagreement is not a problem, at least for myself. Personally, I love a good "disagreement".

Never said it was a problem, I'm talking about your beliefs on 9/11 and specifically the fact that you think no planes flew into the buildings.

The point of the post was, instead of me wanting to attack that belief head on, I had something else to say.
