"So if you need a daddy to make you feel more secure about your decisions too, mrwiizrd, I can't help you with that.  Debate me intellectually and stop looking like a cheerleader it doesn't help."

More garbage rhetoric trying to get a rise out of people.  You want to why I thought you needed to be called out?  This little gem:

"Well I know there's one less individual that supports freedom right here, right now."

That line really pissed me off.  In my opinion it was very callous response with the sole purpose of trying to belittle Ansury. The mere fact that he made it to this forum and posted about freedom makes it pretty obvious to me what he stands for.

And for the record, I think being genuinely supportive of others adds a great deal more value than trying to belittle someone who shares almost the exact same views as you do.

If you knew what you were talking about...

This was a debate between Asury and I on methods to freedom - not freedom itself.  So your anger clouded your judgement obviously.

-- Ansury advocates:  gradualism; freedom through usurping the State by infiltrating the State with excellence and tearing it down from the inside-out

-- I advocate          :  present moment (for lack of a better concept); freedom is here already we draw our line in the sand, compete, and oppose the State aggressor and not become swallowed and corrupted during the act of infiltrating

*Ansury, if what I understand this is your approach and I do not want to speak for you so let me know if what I said needs adjusted.

Let's try to remember that we have people who wish us ill and oppose us, and (generally) they are not here.

Contact the Libertarian Party and tell them you will run for election in your congresstional district. They will, or can tell you how to, get your name put on the ballot. (For 2010 it's now too late in most states, but do go for 2012) There will be some costs and/or fees necessary.

I've been thinking about doing this. All of us should. No campaigning is necessary. I will vote for any name not associated with the 2 main parties, probably you would also.

That's exactly right, the only thing I'd add is that I don't think my way is the *only* way to accomplish the goal, just the means I've selected to utilize myself. Other ways are good too, it's just a different answer to the question "What's the best strategy to attain [the same end goal]?"

And yeah I do recognize the danger of being corrupted when trying to change the state from within the state. Ron Paul is my proof that even someone in Congress can still keep their principles, if they really try, and I hope he's not the only exception.

Heh you know I've been toying with this idea myself for the future, but for now I'm stuck in such an ignorant, economically illiterate area (think: almost the worst possible place) that I'd be tossing money down the drain with no effect other than to give the government more to waste. I'd probably be better off giving it to LvMI or something. I still have a long reading list now, anyway. Stick out tongue
