I am 66, and have been a conservative all my life. In the summer of 1959 my father, a staunch Republican, sent me to The Freedom School in Colorado Springs. The school was then only two years old, but my mentor, Bob Lefavre, was certainly not new to the Libertarian philosophy. In 1960 I received a scholarship to return for the summer. This solidified my beliefs and thus began to flower my dislike for big government. Back then I already felt the federal government was far too big. My, oh my, how that little devil has all grown up now!
While Bob Lefavre was a true pacifist, I was never able to reach that far. I conceder myself a pre-Civil War Southern Democrat…”What’s mine ‘s mine and ‘s gonna stay mine as long as I have dry powder”. While this is a little extreme for this day and age, (after all, I do pay taxes) it is an anchor for me in the troubled waters that are battering our hulls in the current political climate. My God, what were the voters thinking this past November? They were promised “change” and oh brother, it came in spades. Bob would have spoken out against Obama long before the election. But unless he changed after1960, he would never have entered a voting booth. To this day I enter with great reluctance.
There are no statesmen left inside the beltway. All that remain are drunks, cheats, and thieves, with the cunning of a pack of wolves on the hunt for a stray lamb, (aka the American taxpayer). Obama and his cohorts are marching us straight down the path laid out by Karl Marx. We must turn away before it’s too late. We are following Judas to the slaughter.
Like a spider, socialism spins its sticky web to hold its victims powerless until they are devoured.
Like a spider, socialism waits patiently in hiding while its victims fly blindly into its web.
Like a spider, socialism advances over its victims before they realize they are doomed.
Like a spider, socialism paralyzes its victims before they are devoured.
Like a spider, socialism sucks the life out of its victims, leaving only the empty carcasses.
