What's the best book by Hans Hermann Hoppe to start with? I've got A Theory of Socialism and Capitalism,Democracy the God that Failed, The Economics and Ethics of Private Property,Economic Science and the Austrian Method, and The Great Fiction.
I was thinking Democracy but is another one better?
Go in this order:
- Economic Science & the Austrian Method
- A Theory Of Socialism & Capitalism
- Economics & Ethics of Private Property
- Democracy the God that Failed
Any specific reason why?
Not saying you're wrong, just wondering why you think that order is best.
It honestly doesn't matter what you start with. I think all except Democracy the God that Failed are rather dry, so I'd start with that. Economics & Ethics of Private Property has some good essays; they need not be read in order.

Democracy is the most readable and manifesto-ey, but imo the least theoretically rigorous. The first two I recommended are very short, and really give you clear, concise Hoppe basically covering ground from before him and prepping a gather-up. Economics & Ethics has tons of repitition, and is way harder to read, but after the first two it really sinks in nicely. Then Democracy is like a refreshing change of direction. From there, it would be a perfect finish to listen to his Economy Society and History course: https://mises.org/media/categories/66/Economy-Society-and-History
