The issue of roads comes up over and over again. We start from a position where roads are owned by some form of government and we all have rights to use them. It would seem to me that a libertarian society would transfer ownership of the roads into a trust (or many trusts) that charges membership fees for their use by all vehicles and allows open access to walkers.
To be clear, is this a proposed transition from state ownership to a free market, or a predicted result?
