In this thread we post short things that don't require a seperate thread. Things like this:
One of the best Ron Paul videos I've seen. You should send it to everyone.

Awesome, powerful video!
Streaming video of the Occupy Wall Street protest on the Brooklyn Bridge, afternoon of October 1. (edit: can see a big END THE FED sign)
A really cool presentation. Only drawback is it doesn't even attempt to explain "why" (which ultimately is probably a good thing...think Jared Diamond). But that can be left to other videos like this one.
I wonder why these damn hippies don't occupy washington instead of wall street.
I think the answer is in your question. They just don't get the full picture. Yet.
Well, I hope you're right.
The live stream is great though. From what I read there are only a few hundred there, but through the livestreaming platform you can see that 14000+ more are watching it and that's only on that one site.
I think I see what they're doing here:
700 Arrested After Wall Street Protest on Brooklyn Bridge
This might be part of the plan: The more people we put in prison, the more prisons we need. The more prisons we need, the more janitors, guards, prison heads, and people to file the paperwork. We also create jobs for construction workers, architects, people to certify the prisons, etc. Then if people protest against the prisons, they need to buy cardboard and markers to make protest signs, they buy ads on TV.
It's all a stimulus package! Haha, and I doubted the government for a second.
My favorite part is the end of the conversation...
Blowhard reporter: "Is this wheels up to the whitehouse?"
Ron Paul: "I don't know, whatever, man" *peaces out on his bike*
Funniest thing I've seen in a long time:

Ron Paul: Impeach Obama over al-Awlaki's murder.

I didn't realize Bad Lip Reading was still around. I actually thought that was a one time thing for "Friday". This one is pretty awesome too
A small gem I found in the comments on an article:
"[Romney] should go into the beachwear business and sell flip flops…"
Why don't leftists ever stop creeping me out?
This is a video critiquing an Obama commercial (with text over the commercial for the critiques), and this is how it ends (every single time I watch it I get freaked out):

I feel like I am being pulled into a twisted vortex.
Ashton Kutcher lives in Obama's right cheek??
When I was a kid I used to watch this segment a lot, without realising the irony of the 'worst human beings in history' celebrating the navy as they pillage innocent villagers:
Wheylous:Why don't leftists ever stop creeping me out?
Yeah that was when all the messiah stuff was still pretty much in full swing. I'm sure you saw all the school children being taught to sing his praises, right? Like here and here. (Here's the Pyongyang remix)
Guy's barely staying above 40% approval. Won't being seeing that crap ever again.
We talk a lot around about all the freedoms that are being constantly eroded away. Sometimes it's nice to take a moment to remember all the things that aren't yet illegal....
(Yes, this is done in the style of Schoolhouse Rock, so appreciate the cleverness. And yes, the main voice you hear is Chris Hardwick who evidently is a renaissance man (who the hell knew he was part of a comedy duo?) While this version is kind of cool, I actually found watching them on stage to be even funnier...but that clip isn't even on Comedy Central's website...so if you can find it, please share.)
Friedman the praxeologist:
At 4:03 - "...this has always been clear from...general economic reasoning..."
[...] The constitutional conservative critique, as articulated by Perry, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and others, goes far beyond the familiar laments about activist judges. It is, at bottom, an argument against the 20th century — specifically against the notion that the Constitution envisions and empowers a muscular federal government able to ensure that its citizens have clean air, healthy food and safe workplaces. To grasp the radical nature of the constitutional conservative approach, consider the record of every Republican president since the New Deal.[...]
Penn Jillette (libertarian) owns MacFarlance:

I love Penn, but I need to be pointed to the good segments of PennPoint because I just can't bring myself to watch it regularly. The camera setups and the pacing back and forth and the handheld cam...it's all just too distracting and gaggy. I wish he would find a better way to try and make a talking head setup entertaining.
If you haven't seen the original series, definitely check it out.

Many Medicare patients get surgery in the last year of their life. The author engages in a great deal of hand-wringing and soul-searching but fails to suggest the most obvious reason: It's free!

This is interesting, thought-provoking and relevant on so many levels:
1. The future is here! The future officially started a few years ago, great time to be alive. I hope the reactionaries don't tare it down.
2. Private space shuttles are viable. Who ever said that the government has to do this stuff?
3. The development of this shuttle makes a good argument for supply-side economics: Everyone can see that it requires scarce resources to be produced: metal, oil, engineers; resources with alternative uses. No amount of "demand" or expropriating money from "the rich" can make this shuttle appear out of thin air.
4. If the structure of production wasn't distorted by intervention, and if humanity hadn't wasted huge amounts of resources on bombs in the last century, how much sooner would we have gotten this shuttle? Maybe decades ago? Maybe space-travel would be commonly available to every "poor" person like microwave ovens and air-conditioning are today?
Good video by a friend of mine on the "Occupy Wall St. Protest":
PS- How does one get a signature on these forums? Mine won't save.
"A forum specifically dellocated for this show." Awesome. I might have to give it a pelook.
Thanks for your interest; he hosts discussions for his show on my new forum for Rothbardians. =)
It's official. Janeane Garofalo only knows one tune. (Accuses Herman Cain Supporters of Racism @ 1:30)
if humanity hadn't wasted huge amounts of resources on bombs in the last century
I might be wrong, but the Space Race was propelled by the need to gain capability to deliver the bombs created by the Arms Race. I think that without war we might have not had these achievements. I do think we would have invested the money to make our lives on Earth better rather than trying to get to Mars.

This style of living is obviously not for everyone, but it was interesting to read this.
