Ron Paul spoke tonight at Keene State College, and as is being reported nationally, was “mic checked” by Occupy Keene at the end of his speech. The occupiers said: “We are the 99%! We will be heard! There are criminals on Wall Street who walk free, there are protesters in jail…There’s something wrong with this system. We are the 99%! We will be heard!” He handled it graciously by smiling throughout and then by asking them if they feel better. He was also sure to point out his agreement with the Occupy Wall St. movement, saying, “I’m very much involved with the 99. I’ve been condemning the 1%…the people on Wall street got the bailouts and you guys got stuck with the bill and I think that’s where the problem is.”

Only insofar as they condemn crony capitalism. However, OCW, as they call it I guess, does not have a consistent stand on that or anything else.
OWS are a bunch of statists. But the one in NH is mostly libertarian.
I also agree with OWS that the sky is blue. I agree with them on the war and the bailouts, but this agreement is coincidental. I (and probably Ron Paul) don't agree on these issues for the same reason that OWS does.
Paul gave what has to be the best response to their antics any politician could give: "Do you feel better?"
Classic!
I say any coalition between libertarians and occupiers should be welcomed. Concentrate on eliminating the elephant in the room (state/bankers), then sort out the details.
If you can find common ground, well...exploit it. At these things you'll find a mixed crowed, and after watching some people go to OWS (like Schiff) I see there is a variety of people, and yes some people have a very low knowledge of economics and are basing their argument on emotion, but at the same time you can find some people who are not anti-capitalist.
You could have this kid be an example of trying to reach out to some of the OWS protestors:
I remember there being a quote from Rothbard a long the lines "The goals of libertarians and socialists are not that different from each other, it's just how to achieve them." If you tell them you are against the bailouts and corporatism with some simple and direct explanations of how this mess happened you may be surprised to find they agree, it's just making them realize their contradictions that the government who caused this can't solve this.
