i hope he sues immediately.
you can see the desperation in people like cavuto. the only real point of contention for mainstream "conservatives" on RP is the war, so they've branched out looking for non-issues to make him look bad. can't get him on economics, can't get him on his personal life, can't get him on flip-flopping, so they're going for guilt-by-association.
Ron Paul is a Neo Nazi, thus says the young man wearing a Che Guevara shirt and a Pol Pot hat. Lets point the racist finger at Mitt, he follows a religion whose equivalent of Jesus preached about that black people were sub human. Its BS anyway, because for all we know, and hopefully we don't, its just some wacko skinhead angry that Paul rejected their donation. There is not one single qoute from Paul that is to the ideas of Nazism, and anyone who calls themself a National SOCIALIST, has no reason to be within 250 ft of the campaign. In one final digression, what is the difference between gaining the support of the NAACP, Rainbow Coalition or any Jewish organization associated with Zionism and the mastery of the Hebrew "people" over the world? Racism is a load of BS and the only right way to deal with it is to not care about it, because the people at the head of these groups will lose their jobs due to the alck of interest.
The smear campaign is on. As is usual before elections everybody is out to discover if Senator X was at that party where skunk was smoked when he was eighteen or if Rep. Y was once caught five miles over the speed limit. Problem is Ron Paul is such a morally upright character that it's difficult to personally smear him.
Moreover who started this rumour displays a complete ignorance of political theory: nazism is a direct offspring of socialism and Ron Paul is as far from socialism as one can be without being Mises...
I e-mailed the Nazi. Let's see if he can substantiate it!
It's better that the official campaign not bother to address it at all. It brings to mind the mythical LBJ exchange:
"Leak something saying that he's a pig-fucker."
"But he's not! We have no proof."
"Of course he's not, but let's make him deny it!"

elbita:you can see the desperation in people like cavuto.
What was wrong with the Cavuto interview? I thought it was a fair interview and I thought Ron Paul handled it spectacularly.
Honestly, why would it make any sense whatsoever that Ron Paul, a libertarian accepting the Austrian economic paradigm, would embrace any form of socialism? I mean, allegations of anti-semitism aside, Ron Paul is very clearly not a Nazi. Even if you proved to me conclusively that he hates Jews (which I find incredibly difficult to believe), I still wouldn't accept that he's a Nazi. It just couldn't be true.
cavuto was clearly trying to get a specific answer from RP. he only backtracked right at the end after RP slam-dunked the horrible question. they used over 1/2 of the interview on that stupid non-issue. RP's handling of it redeemed it somewhat, but cavuto was ridiculous to pursue it after the first answer. he basically asked the same question twice, hoping RP would capitulate.
I see it the other way around. This unsavory supporter issue keeps resurfacing so of course Cavuto was going to ask about it. He let RP talk uninterrupted though and RP put a stake in the issue. He did just as well on Glen Beck the other night also. These were not hostile interviews.
The smear attacks are quite weak, but I don't know how much the news media cares about accuracy anymore. So this could be very bad, but in any rational discussion, they are all easy to dismiss. Thus far, the only evidence is a photo with Don Black after the Value Voters debate (is Paul and his staff supposed to do a background check on everyone who wants a picture with Paul?) and the forum post by Bill White. White doesn't seem like a particularly good source. Apparently, he has also claimed that he "became an official of white nationalist Pat Buchanan's Reform Party presidential campaign and that of a local candidate for the right-wing Constitution Party". Other gems include:
"writing later that he had been subjected to a series of psychiatric tests as a youth in which he routinely scored high for paranoia and aggressiveness."
"White is energetic, extremely prolific, and not afraid to go with a totally unproven story — a trait that has gotten him in trouble many times."

This is either a case of jealousy on White's part; Black did after all get A LOT of publicity for $500. Or a good-old setup. A bit far fetched, but two details bother me. Why would White 'out' a fellow white supremacist? And how did that photo of Black and Paul come to light? The only source is Black, either through posting it online innocently, or distributing it to this exact end. Who knows.
But I would like to point out one thing in Paul's defense. I use run with the 'wrong' crowd in my youth and was an ardent nationalist. And if you are truly a racist, there is NO WAY that you can keep it a secret for long. There will be slips of the tongue. There will be poorly disguised animosity. And I have never heard Paul say a bad word of even individuals, not to mention entire race groups.
