After reading DiLorenzo's Lincoln books and having read Calhoun and some Jefferson Davis, I am looking for recommendations on other books about the South that really give you a sense of what it means to be a Southerner.
Preferably one mainstream - easily found in Borders or Barnes and Noble...
And one I may have to find used or order from Mises or only get at the library.
Not sure how mainstream these works are but Lew Rockwell has an extensive bibliography on "The South and Southern History": http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/wilson5.html
Wow, good stuff. I have read or come across some of it, but no where near all of it. Awesome bibliography and just what I was looking for. Thanks.
