• Does Nationalism leads to Fascism and Protectionism?

Hello everyone! My question is how nationalism leads to fascism? What policies a nationalist government will implement ? Is it certain that a nationalist will behave as a fascist? Isn't possible that a nationalist will hold his opinions only in theory? Moreover, I would appreciate it if you could...

  • [SPOILERS] The 2012 London Olympics...Hmm

Spoiler Alert: This has no direct bearing on anything Austrian but is a light-hearted break from austerity. See what I did there? The English (Olympic committee) are painting a hilarious, multi-billion dollar caricature of themselves. This Olympic ceremony began as a creepy, massive-scale broadway style...

  • Currency Wars - How can currecy depreciation boost exports?

I'm currently reading Currency Wars by James Rickards. In it, he says that one way for a nation to boost its exports is to depreciate its currency by printing money. For example, let's say that the price of a German car is 20,000 marks or 20,000 US dollars. And let's say the exchange rate...

  • On the strategy of persuasion, a caveat.

There is a disturbing trend that I’ve come across lately and that is when, people of anarcho-capitalism persuasion drag down their fellow free-market libertarians and minarchists for not going 'all the way'. Now i personally would say that support the rights-based anarcho-capitalist ideal;...

  • Political Definitions

I would be interested in seeing a post, blog, website, etc that is devoted to defining political terms. I was at a Tea Party where I saw signs calling Obama a communist, a socialist, and a fascist. Which sign was correct? All three? What about Bush, what would we classify him as? I believe there are...

  • Re: Anarchism and Nationalism??
In fact, you would see more "collectivism" under anarcho-capitalism
You would see a highly-collected society, a dense web of interactions, and a variety of institutions constituting voluntary "collectivism" under individualist anarchism. But...

  • Re: Anarchism and Nationalism??
You can be both, I would be proud of the USA's lack of government and its culture, Texas the same thing. I would still see us as a "country", just one without government.
That's patriotism, not nationalism. And I would agree that one can be a...

  • Re: Anarchism and Nationalism??

I don't believe that one can be a nationalist and an anarchist, or at least one cannot be a nationalist and an individualist anarchist. Nationalism is inherently collectivist. But, you can be an anarchist and still hold that Texas should be permitted to secede from the Union. I would like to see...
