Until 1929, Jews had lived in Hebron for three millennia. There, according to Jewish tradition, Abraham purchased the cave of Machpelah to bury Sarah. It was the first parcel of land owned by the Jewish people in their promised land. Ever since, religious Jews revered Hebron as the burial site of their matriarchs and patriarchs. Conquered, massacred and expelled over the centuries, Jews always returned to this sacred place.
After 1267, under Muslim rule, no Jews were permitted to pray inside the magnificent enclosure, built by King Herod in the 1st century, that still surrounds the burial caves. But following the expulsion of Jews from Spain at the end of the 15th century, a small group of religious Jews rebuilt a community of study and prayer in Hebron.
In August 1929, that community was suddenly and brutally attacked. Incited by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem—who claimed that Jews were endangering Muslim holy sites on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem—Arab rioters swept through Palestine. In Hebron, the carnage was horrendous.

And????? What are you trying to accomplish with this information? If you want us to feel sorry for these folks that were brutally treated then I do. As for changing the current situation, I refuse to get involved and I will try to stop anyone who is receiving my money get involved. I do not have a claim to this property and I do not know anyone who has such a claim.
I do wish that the people at the time of the massacre had their own weapons and the ability to hire a private-nongovernmental defense force. This way the massacre may have been avoided. The governmental defense forces are always at the whims of politicians and are therefore unreliable.
As for the massacre, there have been more than several massacres in this conflict and I am guessing that there will be more as time goes by.
The best thing for the rest of the world to do is to not choose sides and let the people in the conflict come to some sort of agreement or at least be able to agree on a mediator to help them resolve the conflict or maybe one side could buy the other side out and resolve it that way.
