I recently watched a few clips on youtube of Hayek. So then I wondered whether any clips of Mises exist. Does any one know?

If I wrote it more than a few weeks ago, I probably hate it by now.

What if Mises never existed? And its just a Government plot to lure all the freedom-fighters into a trap, and then "get rid" of us.

Are you suggesting those conferences (and the Mises University summer program) held by the Institute are actually part of a grand scheme to brainwash potential enemies?

I'm a bit wee relieved I didn't attend the one in Long Beach now.

Lol, I'm sure we all feel very safe right now.

So why is there no video?

What are the chances there is a tape sitting in some shelf or archive, that hasn't been watched for decades?

I'm hoping on this, and that someone will eventually check it out - realise who it is, and put it online...

There has to be.. somewhere?! Indifferent

I think it could be attributed to the lack of widespread use of personal motion photography cameras during his lifetime. Even when they were in greater use in his later years Ludwig Mises had retreated from the public sphere so it is unlikely that anything would turn up. There are a few audio bytes of him speaking, but they are either muffled or extremely difficult to understand due to his heavy accent and, I assume, his old age.

This topic really makes me wonder about other things lost in the course of history. Specifically the final chapters of Rothbard's Betrayal of the American Right.

Many lost things but I promise you that MNR's Betrayal is complete. Anyone is welcome to come to the Mises Institute and look through the 5 or 6 versions of MNR's own manuscript revisions on this book. (We published a composite). there is no missing first section.

The Mises vid issue is a mystery to me. There are vids of Leanard Read from the 60s and even earlier. Hazlitt in the 50s. so why not Mises? It is very strange.

Probably half a dozen times, we have leads on this subject and nothing comes of them. Very disappointing.

What kind of "leads"?

I thought it was missing the sections about the 80's-90's?

No, he wrote this book in the 70s. He revised it a bit in the 90s but that's about it.

on Mises vid, every once in a while we get a call from someone claiming to have them but it never comes to anything.
