I'm in Texas, in the Houston area.
How do you get an exemption from some of the vaccines and still enroll your child in school?
Is it a religious exemption?
What happens if you don't get an exemption?
Caley McKibbin: What happens if you don't get an exemption?
I assume you cannot enroll your child in school.
Why do you want an exemption? Is this over the guardasil vaccine?
Zach_the_Lizard: Why do you want an exemption? Is this over the guardasil vaccine?
No...I'm trying to space out some of the vaccines and my child may not have them all when school starts and I also don't see any point in forcing him to get a chickenpox vaccine.
There's a chickenpox vaccine?! :s
Is it really that bad having chickenpox.. It was just a short time of inconvenience for my parents when I had it, and I couldn't care less about missing a little bit of school...

Then what happens? I doubt getting off that lucky. I refused every vaccination all through school due to my family educational background and they did nothing.
Yeah, not sure the chicken pox vaccine is worth a damn. I had the pox as a kid and then still had it return later in life as shingles that have left me permanently scarred

At advanced ages, chickenpox can be deadly.
EDIT: More seriously, I think it's to prevent its spread in classrooms.

Chicken pox can actually kill you, though that is relatively rare. It is more common in adults, but it can still kill children. I know of at least one case myself, and the parents didn't want the vaccine because they thought there would be no problem, just as in 99% of cases. Sadly, that was not the case.
Uncertain on the proper exemption procedure but for chicken pox you can just claim that the child has already had a severe case and there is no need for a vaccination. I did this with mine and the nurse still tried to push the shots on them but made it clear that it was optional since they already had the pox.
For the other required vaccinations, I know of some parents who took the school required vaccination forms and played doctor for a day filling them out without repercussions.
Or perhaps you could insist that the physicians complete this form before allowing any vaccinations? Physician’s Warranty of Vaccine Safety
We are the soldiers for righteousnessAnd we are not sent here by the politicians you drink with - L. Dube, rip

What is the point to this?

The sad part is, at this point, we don't know if chickenpox kills children or all the vaccines they get break down their immune system to the point where it cannot naturally defend against it....
I along with my siblings got chicken pox...along with probably my entire school at some point....everyone was fine...uncomfortable, but fine...

To get your child in school without giving them all the forced government vaccines.

All of those vaccines prevent some of the very deadly diseases that we can get; I'd rather take my chances with chicken pox (50 cases of death per year for adults and children in the US, IIRC) than I would take my chances with polio, diphtheria, rubella, or any of the other common vaccinations. Each of those killed thousands and thousands per year, but they are now very rare diseases in the West. The thing that can cause weaker immune systems is being in an overly sterile environment. When those environments are made that way with massive antibiotics treatments, the bacteria tend to become immune to all antibiotics and add to the danger (as is the case in many hospitals in the USA; in Norway they do not have this problem because of how they use antibiotics).

I don't see how it would work.

Why on earth would you want to do that? If an organization demands that you give your children dangerous toxins, why do you want that same organization to educate your children?

And the 2 flu vaccines they reccommend per year for babies?
Would you get those as well?
Also, the DTAP....it used to be 1 dose was good enough....then you needed 2 doses....
then 3 doses....
then 4 doses....
now 5 doses is what you need....
what if they change their mind and say you need 6 doses....will you get the 6th dose?
what if they add a 7th dose...and say you need that...will you get the 7th dose?
what about 8 doses?

Come on....
simple....they stole all my dang money I would have used to educate my child...I can't afford to send them to a private school....
