Came across this graph at boing boing.  Did not dig deep into it, it does beg the question how economically feasable fossil fuels are without money from the government.  

Then again, this should not be a problem.  The government takes more money from these companies than it gives back...

My guess is that if we truly had a free market, ie no subsidies or land restrictions, that renewables would win out in the market.  But that is just a guess.

If it were feasable, I would seriously opt for a solar power set-up.  I like the idea of being in charge of my own energy.  Even if the pay-off or break even was years in the future.
