Penn and Teller really nail this one.
Freedom has always been the only route to progress.
thanks :) opened my eyes (a little bit).
(english is not my native language, sorry for grammar.)
It's people like Penn Jillette that turned me on to libertarianism. Before, I used to be more of statist and I didn't fully trust a free market system.
Also this lecture by Floy Lilley "The Economics of Recycling"

I didn't watch the video (not yet anyway), but do remember that some materials (such as metals) are well worth recycling. Take copper for example, so valuable that people steal copper wiring and pipes! Afaik, steel and aluminium are similar.
He mentions that, like aluminum, it's really one of the better P&T episodes for it's surprising information. But they really blow it out of the water.
I recycled 75 lbs of aluminum cans and all I got was $33. I'm rather disapointed seeing how last time I recycled I got $60+.
