Hi all!

We are setting up a Mises Institute for Finland and I thought it might be nice to have a discussion forum for tips and Q&A related to running a Mises Institute.

Right now we are full of enthusiasm, we're getting lots of good articles done so we are soon ready to publish the mises.fi site. One question came to my mind while finding images for the articles.

How do you do it? Each mises.org article comes with a pleasant picture right below the title of the post. Where do you get them from? They seem to be tailor-made for the article in question, so I'm guessing you have an in-house artist at work? What does it cost? Any other tips?

Thanks for all your answers, they indeed are helpful!

Another question that pops into my mind regards the process of publishing new articles.

How do people running web sites like this make sure that the quality of the articles is coherent, meaning they have similar structure (intro, main body, conclusion) and tone? If you are too bureaucratic about it, you won't get people writing new articles. On the other extreme you'll get lots of texts with spelling mistakes etc..

Do you do a lot of editing work, like adding an introductory paragraph or re-writing parts of the text to better fit the general tone of the site?

You should direct these questions to the people running this website and other Mises websites.

I think it is good to have a general discussion about these issues so that it may help others who are starting / planning to start up new Mises Institutes around the world. After some time hopefully this thread will be easy to find and will attract the attention of the people you mentioned.
