Was the kid being bullied justified in body slamming the bully?
Absolutely, the "Bully" clearly initiated an act of physical violence and the victim was correct to retaliate. If the article is correct, then clearly the school administration was acting immorally by punishing the victim of an assult. Even if the little dude was trying to get some sort of retribution there is no reason for the violent attack. But what matters is the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." or its more modern version: Respect the rights of others and they will respect your rights.
TANSTAAFL: Was the kid being bullied justified in body slamming the bully?
Seemed like overkill to me.
If I wrote it more than a few weeks ago, I probably hate it by now.
The bully was striking the fat kid. The fat kid acted justifiably by putting the bully out of commission, if you will, and then walking away, thereby avoiding further conflict. I hope the bully's leg broke.

The fact that the fat kid was punished and the bully wasn't is just proof that the goal of public "education" is to put kids in place, not to actually educate them.

It was possibly a little over the top from the fat kid although given the circumstances I can understand it. But as ever the initiator goes unpunished whilst the retaliator gets the book thrown at them. Crazy.
PS Awesome bodyslam though.
The atoms tell the atoms so, for I never was or will but atoms forevermore be.

You mess with the bull, you get the horns. The big kid took the first round like a man. The mistake of the little monkey was coming back thinking he could do more. Greed is good, if you can handle the losses.
Of course he was justified, kid started punching him in the face. He's so much bigger than that little bully that whatever he would've done could be called "overkill" what was he supposed to do ask him to please kindly leave him alone? That kid wanted a fight so he got one.
It was the niceness of the big dude that the retaliation was not worse. I understand that it would be immoral for the big dude to kill the little dude but from the prospective of the little dude: If you smack a beehive then expect to get stung. And if you get stung so many times that you die then it is the fault of the bees but you need to be smart enought not to smack the hive in the first place.
If only the parents of the victim, had his balls and stood up to the school board, with equal measure.
