Why does Easter Candy cost so much during this time of year, but Corned Beef right before St. Patricks Day is bargain priced? Why such a difference in pricing strategy for essentially the same phenomenon, an event created demand?
Could it be due to the amount of competition? Corned Beef is usually supplied by supermarkets which are oligopolies. While Easter Candy you can purchase pretty much anywhere. Target Walmart, supermarkets, quickie marts, cvs, etc...?
Easter candy isn't any more expensive than regular candy around here. If anything, it's cheaper.
My bad. The candy price is not unusual, but they don't go on sale like the beef does.
Maybe because after easter who will buy those eggs? so it's make your money now or die. but corned beef sells all year round.

I would be more surprised if different goods at different times with different uses and different demographics sold the exact same way.
