So who went to see the movie? I watched it today and it was surprisingly good. The movie was entertaining and actually did the novel a fair deal of justice. It skipped over significant parts of the philosophy, and if any of the other films fail to go into any more depth then I will be disappointed with the series, but it does have another two sequels in order to incorporate a solid defense of individualism.
The movie was solid, the characters were mostly well developed, the style was really well done, and the movie was entertaining.
The movie is significantly better if you have read the book, some of the events are much clearer if you know the story but I still think that it's a good movie if you haven't read the book. If you enjoyed Atlas Shrugged then you should watch the movie.
Thoughts from anyone else?
I haven't seen it yet. Will on Sunday. I'm glad to hear it was good.
I should also throw out there that I went to see it with someone who wasn't much of a Rand fan and did not finish Atlas Shrugged but he thought that the film was good and gave it a 6.25, He was really interested and said that he was going to finish the book to figure out what happened in the latter parts of the book
Here's my review. I wasn't bored, but I think it could have been better in delivering the moralistic message.
VERY bad reviews, though. 10% on RottenTomatoes, 26/100 on Metacrtic, 6.7/10 thus far on IMDb.
