Marginal utility question re: ME&S chapter 1, figure 4. Value Scales

I'm having trouble interpreting this chart and the explanation for ranking 3Y higher than 4X on his value scale. To me, it looks like he ranked them the same. (OMG, ghosts of the indifference curve from my college Econ.) I'm wondering if this is a misprint, since the line below has no rankings for either X or Y. If not a misprint, then a misfiring of my brain, which will need help in understanding the relationship between his two value scales. Thanks for any help you can offer.

From my quick look, it is a misprint. All of the other values are in proper order, the dot for X4 is one grid up too high.
