Is it possible that inflation had a large impact on the USPS and its stamps? The price of stamps appears to be relatively fixed, though slowly climbing up. Perhaps this climb has been slower than needed given the inflation?
What do you mean by "relatively fixed"?
The USPS raises its prices once or twice a year. Most of their costs is not fuel, instead it is pensions for its employees.
To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
Daniel Muffinburg:The USPS raises its prices once or twice a year. Most of their costs is not fuel, instead it is pensions for its employees.
I believe he is talking about the price of the normal one ounce first class postage stamp...which hasn't been changed in 3.5 years now. (And even then it was a $.02 increase)
That is what I meant, JJ, yes. Am I overlooking some larger source of revenue for them?
